Happy summer y'all. It's been a while since I've posted a mix... last April to be exact. So here's my latest offering... a little set to lead up to our next summer gig of the same name. For fun, this one was mixed using a free app (Virtual DJ Home) on my mac. No gear except a mouse, no headphones (as i couldn't figure out the f@cking cueing setup for the life of me!), so i just winged it. Big tunes. Lotsa vocals. Maybe hiccup or two. Enjoy.

The Booty Hunta Presents... Music for the Afterparty

Just to keep things interesting, I decided to try to sequence a mix where I start with peak-time floor fillers and then work things back down. A sequence that would be the reverse of what I would normally do. The end result is a set that sounds like it was recorded at an afterparty at my place.

At the afterparty, I would begin with my biggest tunes, then as the night/early morning progressed, I would slow things down, not only for my sanity, but to give my fellow peeps the hint that it was time to get the hell out. As an unintended bonus, a couple of mixes near the end of the mix are a little sloppy, just like they would be in the wee hours of the morning. It doesn't get more authentic than this, enjoy!
